Everyone has their own taste, moods and ideas. Clothing, accessories and the objects we carry bring those differences into everyday life. PICDANCE believes personal style should leave room for self-expression.
We set out to create digital fashion pieces: wearable, everyday designs brought to life by digital content. Patterns can change with your mood and what you wear. What you choose and create becomes part of your style.
The pixel phone case is our starting point in digital fashion. An illuminated display and a connected app bring artwork, creation and sharing into what you wear. Each change gives the same piece a new expression.

A sketch.
A first possibility.
In December 2022, the founder sketched the first concept on a fogged bathroom mirror. The idea had three defining qualities: it could move, it could light up, and it could be customized.
The ambition was to turn a familiar protective case into a personal object with a changing visual identity. A pixel pattern could carry a mood, a message or an idea.
The next step was finding people who could help make it real—partners who understood hardware and building a new product.
An idea was the beginning. Making it usable would become the next chapter.

The brand introduction documents creators and community members bringing PICDANCE into their own visual worlds—from street styling to gothic looks and costume-inspired expression.

The idea of an illuminated case became a defined product structure. The brand records a utility model patent for a smart protective phone case with an RGB pixel display, granted in 2024.
This is one part of the work behind PICDANCE: developing the hardware alongside the experience of creating and changing what appears on it.

VAC × PICDANCE
A new context for expression.
The VAC festival collaboration brought the dynamic case into an electronic-music setting. Alongside the collaboration launch, pop-up spaces and installations gave people a place to encounter the brand.
The product remained a personal canvas; the setting became a collective experience of sound, light and self-expression.

01 / ABOVE THE CLOUDS
Above the clouds.
An open-air gathering on the 70th floor in Hengqin, Zhuhai, led by electronic-music artist TERRY ZHONG. A city skyline becomes the setting for a shared night of music.
Expression, in the moment.
Under red light, the pixel artwork on a phone case joins makeup and styling as part of a personal look. Captured on camera, a small piece of everyday expression becomes a memory of the night.
Light, sound and a shared rhythm.
Music fills the space as beams of light sweep across the crowd. A phone case held above the audience displays a personal pixel pattern, carrying a mood into the moment. From everyday life to a shared night of music, PICDANCE goes wherever expression takes it.

Each year added a new layer: people, technology, a working product, and spaces for expression. These are the milestones that connect the first idea to PICDANCE today.

The first idea.
DECEMBERThe founder sketches the first prototype on a fogged bathroom mirror. The concept is defined around movement, light and customization, and the search for hardware partners begins.
- 2023
Building the foundation.
JUNE → NOVEMBERThe core team is assembled and the product patent is filed. The app prototype and interface design follow, creating a foundation for the connected experience.
- 2024
From zero to one.
JANUARY → DECEMBERCircuit development, a Bluetooth LE connection, embedded software and industrial design progress. The first iPhone 15 Pro hardware prototype arrives in August; the app launches in November, followed by more model development.
- 2025
A growing brand world.
THROUGH THE YEARAI voice-to-art and personal notifications join the experience. The VAC collaboration launches, pop-ups and festival installations reach physical spaces, and the brand reports 560 million hashtag views.
